11:00 – 11:30 am – Keynote:  Sion Roy, M.D., Chairman, Subcommittee on Medicare

Sion “Shy” Roy is currently a cardiologist at Harbor UCLA Hospital. After graduating from Johns Hopkins University and the Medical College of Virginia, he went on to complete his medical training at Georgetown University Hospital and Harbor UCLA Hospital.

Dr. Roy is also an expert on health policy and is on the board of trustees for the California Medical Association (CMA)

where he serves as Chairman, Subcommittee on Medicare, California Medical Association,  and Board Member,  LA County Medical Association (LACMA).

Dr. Kooros Samadzadeh, Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in 2001, serves as the Medical Director for SeaView IPA in Oxnard, California. In addition, Dr. Samadzadeh has served as a hospitalist at Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura, California for the past 15 years; and is also an Associate Professor of Medicine for the hospital’s Graduate Medical Education Department.  He received his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California and subsequently completed his Internship and Residency at Legacy Health System in Portland, Oregon.
